Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
KidBoard ("KidBoard", "we", "us") helps parents manage their children's duties, rewards, and household rules. We take your family's privacy seriously, and because KidBoard is used by families with children, we are especially careful with children's information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who controls the account
KidBoard accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian(an adult). Children do not create their own accounts; a parent creates a child profile and sets a username and password for the child to use "Kid Mode". The parent is responsible for the child profiles they create and can edit or delete them at any time.
Information we collect
From parents
- Account details: name, email address, and password (stored hashed). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google account identifier.
- Preferences: currency and language settings.
- Device information: a device identifier and platform (iOS/Android) when you sign in on the mobile app. We use this to keep your account secure and to verify referrals (see below).
About children (entered by the parent)
- Child profile: the child's name or nickname, a username, an avatar or optional photo, and their points/rewards balance.
- Activity: duties completed, rewards earned, faults, goals, and daily records that the family creates within the app.
We do notknowingly collect more information from or about children than is needed to provide the app's family-management features, and we do not require children to disclose more than is reasonably necessary to participate.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the app's features for your family.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To generate the reports and progress summaries you request, including PDF exports.
- To operate our referral program — when you refer a friend, we use device identifiers to confirm that referred sign-ups are distinct people and to prevent abuse. We do not use device identifiers for advertising.
- To send essential account emails, such as password resets and approval notifications.
What we do not do
- We do not sellyour or your children's personal information.
- We do notshow behavioral or personalized advertising to children, and we do not use children's data for advertising.
- We do not allow children to make purchases or share personal information publicly within the app.
Children's privacy (COPPA, GDPR-K and similar)
KidBoard is intended to be operated by parents. Where laws such as the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or the "children's" provisions of the EU/UK GDPR apply, the parent provides and controls any information about their child and may review, edit, or delete it at any time from within the app. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without the appropriate parental control, contact us at privacy@kidboard.app and we will delete it.
How information is shared
We share information only with service providers that help us run the app — for example, hosting and email delivery — and only as needed to provide the service. These providers are bound to protect the data. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
Data retention & security
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, and data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. You can delete a child profile at any time, and you can request deletion of your entire account by contacting us.
Your choices & rights
- Access, correct, or delete child profiles from within the app.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing privacy@kidboard.app.
- Opt out of non-essential emails.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
